This morning I woke up to royalties in my bank account. I decided in 2021 that I refused to let my books sit on thousands of websites and not make money. What was the whole point of me publishing in the first place? Publishing created passive income for me. Publishing for me meant I could get paid for all the pain and toxic mess I’d been through. Publishing for me meant I could build freedom. This meant I could make money I didn’t have to physically work for. You write and publish one time and it creates wealth over and over again. 💵
Many authors only publish for a title, to become famous or popular. Damn a title, I needed to produce some major results outside of how many books I sold at my book signing. Then no one sees or hears about the book ever again. Meanwhile, you’re still trying to figure out how to start a business and truth is, you already have one. Your book is a whole business that produces wealth if you position it to.
Your title as an author means absolutely nothing if your not benefiting from it. Your book can be an entire brand if you position it to be. Many authors get so caught up in a book cover with their face on it and don’t realize it’s not about you, it’s about the message. It’s about the information someone is searching for right now that you have in your book. What are you doing with your message? Messages are meant to be monetized not trapped in our heads or in a book we have failed to market or expose to our readers we haven’t met yet. Do yourself a favor, go live, write a blog post, or better yet send an email to your subscribers who haven’t heard from you in a while. They are searching for answers right now that are in your book.
So what, you published a book? How are you and the world benefiting from your published book? What else are you offering after you sell one book? You begged family and friends to support this dream of yours and then after the book signing they haven’t seen your book or heard from you. 🤔 I have seen authors 10-15 years later forget they even published a book. My take on that is, they never meant to impact the world with their message. They only wanted to be an over night success without putting in the work.
If 2020 didn’t teach you anything about building your own streams of income then I’m clearly not talking to you. For those who received the wake up call, what are you waiting for? Learn how to create real wealth from your book today. Connect Today on Instagram @blackwritersspace
Being an author CEO has an entirely different meaning to me now. My literary goals sit different in my brain now. For years we’ve disrespected the art of publishing. For me it’s the art and the passive residual wealth my words produce. It’s the wealth for me💰. I’ve worked labor jobs my entire life but nothing quenches my would like writing. Have you ever loved something so much you can feel it down in your soul. It’s the joy in writing for me. It’s time to work smarter not harder. This is the season where quarterly goals are at an all time high. Take the time to create some passive income in your life. Whether it’s an eBook, a digital course or a checklist. Once it’s created, it no longer requires your time. It’s time to wake up with money in your bank.
Get off the clearance rack and learn how to value yourself. I learned early in my entrepreneur walk that I had to detox myself from all the garbage I was taught in business. Once I began to place value on myself, that’s when things started to change. Stop letting folks tell you what you can’t do because of their opinion. It is what it is, their opinion. Hulu + Netflix send out updates on their terms and conditions all the time without notice. Why can’t you? Stop looking for approval and validation from folks who don’t matter.
Work your craft and create your price tag however you see fit. Remember, everytime you gain new knowledge, resources and solutions you are due a raise in pay. You expect an increase in pay on your 9-5 when you change positions or get a promotion right? My point exactly. Boss up.
Tell us about your business. Be sure to include why you started your business and what products, solutions, and services you provide for consumers. Who is your target audience?
Push Power Enterprise is a company to empower women to help them know their worth. I started this business to help women and young ladies with self- awareness, self- growth, and self-esteem. Push Power is dear to my heart because when going through life I remember desiring these products, solutions, and services that we render.
We provide knowledge, direction, and awareness through books, workshops, seminars, programs, one on one counseling, and mentorship. Developing women to add value to their present and futuristic spheres of influence.
What or who has been your greatest influence in business and why?
My greatest influence in business was my aunt Sylvia Cannon. I watched her start a business from scratch. I never seen her intimidated by others that was doing it or not doing it. Most of all she never missed a beat as a wife, mom, and leader in ministry.
What does entrepreneurship mean to you and why did you step into this arena?
When I think of entrepreneurship I think of POWER! The purpose of me stepping into this arena is because I want to help the one no one else will help. Push the one no one feel is worth pushing. Being an entrepreneur allows me to qualify the unqualified.
What would you say is your greatest win in business?
My greatest win is having the opportunity to hire a young lady that had all odds against her and on paper she was unqualified. Being an entrepreneur, I was able to give her a fresh start. While being with my company I assist her with getting her GED, cosmetology license, and giving her life to Christ!!!! Not, only was her life changed, but her children lives were changed as well.
What’s the best advice you have received in business that you wish to pass on to our readers?
What advice can I pass on to others never stop believing in yourself. Never stop cultivating your gift and remember just because your gift made room for you your character has to keep you there.
What has been the most effective marketing initiatives or programs you have used to promote your business?
The most effective marketing for me was word of mouth and social media platforms.
What have you learned as a business owner and entrepreneur that you can pass on to others seeking this position or just started out in business?
What can I pass on to other entrepreneurs? I would tell them to make sure you cross your T’s and dot your I’s. Then, remember every client is different. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Take every moment as a seed and ask yourself what harvest will you receive? Abundance, lack, shame, new client, more open doors, or shut doors your seed determine your harvest.

Morning let’s face it, your real tribe is the people you don’t know. They live in other states and are looking for your products, services and content right now. That’s the first wrong thing many of us do when we start a business is look for friends and family to support.
Wake up, most of us don’t have that support and let’s be honest, are our friends and family big enough to make our business survive ? Are they gonna bring us that passive income we want and need? Nope, don’t miss the thousands and millions of folks waiting on you to show up.
When my business started I had close friends who all needed my services and not one utilized them. So, what had happened was 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 as my content became more relevant and consistent, my tribe started showing up, in my comments, emails, and dm messages asking how they could work with me. It’s that simple, just stay focused and the real people will come. –
